Day 76

Walker did well with his breathing overnight, and was able to stay off the cannula!  The nurse said he did well and didn't seem to have too much trouble with reflux.  He ate well for her also taking between 35-40 each time.  Walker is getting so big, she weighed him around midnight and he is up to 4lbs. 2.6ozs!  We are hoping that he might be up to 4 and 1/2lbs by the time we take him home!  Walker also did several "big jobs" for the nurse during the night, what a smart boy haha!

Mommy and Daddy were so excited to get to the hospital this morning after talking to the nurse around 3:00 and 6:00 this morning and hearing he was still of the cannula!  He ate well for Mommy at 9:00 taking around 41cc and then he was smiling all over himself!  During rounds the doctors said the results of his echo to check his heart came back normal and everything looked good.  This is great news, and we are so glad to hear that everything is normal with Walker's little heart!

During the day Walker did well with his breathing and eating, he did have one self recovery episode this afternoon, but you could see the poor guy refluxing the whole time.  The doctors told Mommy and Daddy that if Walker can continue to stay off the cannula and do well with no episodes he can go home on SUNDAY!  This is very exciting and also stressful news!  We can't wait to take Walker home with us, but we are also very nervous about taking him home after 76 days in the hospital.  We are praying without ceasing that Walker will continue to do well and get to go home.

This afternoon Walker had a visit from our friend Janie Iten and her granddaughter.  Janie was excited at how much progress he had made since the last time she was here.  Mommy really enjoyed the visit as well and got to catch her up on life in NICU2.  Walker also got a visit from Geoff, Ellen, and Mary Peyton this afternoon, and Geoff got to meet him for the first time.  We are so thankful for this amazing family that God placed in our lives to be an encouragement to us, and we have truly loved getting to know them.

Walker did well for the rest of the evening and we are praying that he has another good night.  Please pray with us that Walker is able to maintain being off the cannula and that we can bring our little boy home on Sunday!

Family picture, can't wait to get our boy home!
