Day 45

We were excited to go see Walker after church this morning, we had another great Sunday at Admore Baptist church!  Walker was doing well and had no episodes over night.  Early this morning they tried to turn his flow on his cannula down from 3 liters to 2.5 liters, which he wasn't very happy about so they turned him back up.

Mommy and Daddy got to spend some time with the little guy and  he had some visits this afternoon.  Mimi and Bart came down to see him after they got out of church.  He also had a visit from his Aunt Natalie, who got to see the lil guy for the first time.  Mamaw and Papaw Pruett also came down this afternoon to see the little guy.  He had a busy afternoon of visits, what a lucky and loved lil boy!

This afternoon Mommy got to nurse him again, and after how well he did yesterday we were excited to try again.  Yesterday we just let him nurse for a while and then when he got tired we just held him before putting him back to bed.  Today we decided to weigh him first, then let him nurse, then weight him again to see how much he was actually taking in.  He didn't nurse for as long today as yesterday, he did nurse pretty good though but then decided he need to work on a "big job"(your welcome Mommy!).  After we decided he was pretty much done, they don't want him to try for too long because he can burn more calories than he is taking in, we weighed him again.  He was able to take in 10cc, which is really great for such a little guy!  We are really proud of how he is progressing and we are just praying that it can continue.

Walker also went through 3  different outfits today, guess Mommy needs to do some laundry!  A big thanks to Cathy Carter for the adorable starfish outfit and matching hat and bib, which came in really handy when Walker got to nurse today!

Tonight after supper, Walker got kangaroo time with Daddy which they both really enjoyed!  Sometimes its hard to decide whether you want to hold him or kangaroo him, and we can't wait for the day when we can hold him  as much as we want!  As always we can't say thank you enough for all the support we have received through this whole situation, and we are truly grateful!

Big smile while sleeping after nursing!
